Project Challenge
Objective
As I stepped into the role of Head of Design, I found myself embarking on a new and exciting journey within a real startup
operation. It was my first experience in such an environment, and I quickly realised that elevating the design quality was of utmost importance.
Upon assessing the existing standards, it became evident that the investor portfolio, including the Pitch deck, Tokenomics, and Website, lacked
the true design quality it deserved. It was clear that the project had been rushed from its inception, with basic design fundamentals overlooked.
In order to align with the business's vision and mission, it was crucial to urgently uplift the investor portfolio. The goal was to attract the
necessary funding to ensure the project's survival and success. By infusing thoughtful design elements and crafting a visually compelling
narrative, we aimed to captivate potential investors and convey the true potential of our venture.
This challenge presented a tremendous opportunity for me to utilise my expertise and creative vision. With a dedicated hands on focus on enhancing the
design quality, I was determined to create a portfolio that would not only leave a lasting impression but also secure the necessary support to
propel startup project forward.
Design Approach
Fundamentals
Coming from the web2.0 space, it was clear to see the lack of basic design fundamentals applied, especially UI/UX within web3.0. Wether we like it or not, web3 has already been in motion for sometime now. The concept of the next generation of the web - decentalzing networks, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and NFTs. To some degree, this space is still in its infancy stage... especially when it comes to web standards and some marketing methods. From a design POV, I embraced this new landscape and challenges... it was a great opportunity to learn a new space and build from the ground up. However, I wasn't prepared to stoop down to the standards of quality I witnessed. This was a real eye opener! Reminiscence of web1.0 standards back in the late 90's.
The Solution
Conclusion
The key priorities were addressed which resulted in elevating the overall design standards to boost the investor portfolio appeal aiming to
achieve 10MM funding. Pitch deck, White paper and website were totally revitalised, adapting UX/UI principles from the web2.0 space. Brand gudeline
foundation improved whilst introducing viva magenta to the primary palette to compliment and provide a richer vibe to the overall brand style. This trancended through
the digital and social media brand presence.
This was a truly great introduction into the web3.0 space, providing the oppoprtunity of continued learning.
Moreover, to explore endless opportunities within the decentralized landscape.
